For the eighth consecutive month, Fraser Valley Real Estate saw record-breaking sales with April breaking the previous monthly record set in 2016. At the beginning of the month, I felt the market had started to shift but I was surprised mid month with the market being truly “bananas” as I was involved in some multiple offer situations where the properties ended up selling way over list price. The board has reported that they have seen a change in pace in the market and I have too. However there are pockets where properties are selling well over list with multiple offer and then there are properties listed on yesterday’s market price and not selling or missing their “designated” offer day deadline.
Home prices are starting to slow in response to the near record influx of new listings which help balance the market. We live in a beautiful part of the world and there is a great desire for people to move here from all over the world. I should know, I am one of them!
