After emigrating from South Africa to Vancouver, Amanda Milford was eager to get established in a new country after spending the last few years as a stay-at-home mother. Open to where her career path would take her, Amanda eventually took the plunge and using her prior experience of selling Business Intelligence software; she found her groove in real estate. After spending some time in Sutton West Coast, she joined HomeLife Benchmark Realty in White Rock at the beginning of 2020. Going on nine years in the business, Amanda services Surrey, BC, and is not only victorious in her profession as an agent, but unbelievably creative.
As one of the Top 5% of Realtors on the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board and Top 5% of Sales Representatives in Canada with the Homelife Realty Services Inc 2021 & 2022, Amanda is achieving outstanding volume, with more than 200 million dollars in volume in the past nine years.
Today Amanda is a solo agent with a marketing assistant. After nine solid years of hard work and prioritizing client relationships, she has established a repeat and referral business of 60%. For Amanda, this business is about prioritizing her clients. She utilizes a comprehensive marketing approach to contact clients regularly through drop-byes, hosting unique events, coffee visits, and essential relationship building. Each month she and her marketing assistant deliver a project that caters to her clients. For instance, she recently organized a client appreciation dinner where past and current clients could partake in a three-course cooking experience and enjoy a delicious meal.
Between her unique marketing initiatives, regular newsletters, emails, and efforts toward relationship building, Amanda secures trust in her clients through her conscientious presence in their lives aside from the transaction. Additionally, Amanda is extraordinary in her marketing efforts. For each listing, she brings in a home stager to reorganize furniture and add accessories, helping bring a special touch to the home. Well ahead of the market shifts, Amanda does this to leverage her client’s chance of selling a home against competing inventory during market shifts. “Presentation is key,” Amanda shares. Next, Amanda brings in a professional photographer and a measurer to develop accurate floor plans and even utilizes a videographer.
She makes a good point: "A home needs to look good online because that is the first stop when people are looking at the property.” Amanda clearly implements an impressive marketing strategy to ensure her clients’ homes have the best chance of selling at top dollar. Amanda most enjoys working with people. “It’s all about the person and the life. Each home and family have a story to tell,” she shares.
Aside from building lasting relationships, Amanda focuses on providing excellent customer service to create the ultimate “wow factor” to be the agent for change to help clients fulfill the dream they have. Additionally, Amanda is active in the Surrey community, raising game-changer funds for various non-profits such as Women of Options which helps disadvantaged youth. She is also involved in the British Columbia Food Drive and puts on a food truck experience for her community every year where residents and clients can eat and enjoy the outdoors.
When Amanda isn’t working, she spends time with her teenage children and two fur babies and cherishes her husband of twenty-one years. Together they partake in family activities while her hobbies include pilates, paddle boarding in the summer, and embracing nature.
Amanda has big plans to increase her referral basis and incorporate her building and land assembly expertise as a developmental realtor into her business. Furthermore, she will continue to organize her marketing systems to excel as an agent. Eventually, she would love to have her children join her in her business.
